About Noblewood Kennels

Samson winning one of many first place ribbons at his very first show!
When I bought my first German Shepherd over fifteen years ago, I was a newcomer to the world of purebred dogs. I bought my first GSD from a man who was selling them out of his garage. The tiny male puppy I bought that day was named Samson. He grew to be a very large and handsome dog. Samson and I became the best of friends…he really was a special dog. Samson got his CGC, CD, and CDX. I enjoyed working with Samson so much that I wanted another Shepherd. My second Shepherd came from Sukee Kennels, a very dark plush-coat female named Cleo. Cleo got her CGC and her CD but was retired after finding out she had hip dysplaisa. Over the years, I have had several other dark dogs out of American, German, and Italian bloodlines. I had started a breeding program with my Dark Shepherds; however, the birth of my son, then soon after a divorce, led me to stop my breeding program in order to get my life together. I went into life as a single mom with my son Nick, my dogs Samson, Cleo and a new pup Segan, at my side. While I was getting adjusted to my new life as a single mom, I began looking at the White Shepherds. At first, I was taken with their striking appearance. As I continued to research the breed, I became continually impressed with both their confirmation and working ability. I began to think about breeding again, when another rather unsettling life event happened.
Samson, who I called my soul mate in dogs, crossed the rainbow bridge and I was devastated. It is always hard when we lose one of our beloved dogs. I knew in my mind I was lucky to have him for 11 long years; but then, my dear sweet Cleo went suddenly four months after him. I quickly vowed that I would never breed again! The pain was too great to start all over. A few years went by and I began to miss having multiple dogs in my home. I even sensed that Segan missed having some canine companionship. It was then that I looked back into the White Shepherd lines. I researched the breed again, and was impressed with their looks and abilities. Even though it had been a few years since I had looked into the White Shepherds, I saw that the breeders were still a very tight knit group who continued working together to produce sound animals. I was so impressed with the honesty and integrity of these breeders, I decided to get my first White Shepherd and become part of the white shepherd family. Noblewood Kennels would begin anew! My first White Shepherd came from Rhonda McMahan of Surefire Shepherds. Soon after, I purchased another White Shepherd from Rhonda. I am now remarried and my wonderful husband, Ralph, shares my love for this breed.
Noblewood's goal as a breeder is simple. Together my husband and I are striving to produce healthy dogs with outstanding confirmation and temperments. All of our dogs are house dogs and are worked in either confirmation or obedience. All our dogs are x-rayed and must pass their health clearances before they are considered for breeding. We take our time picking out stud dogs to sire our litters. We are a very small breeding kennel and usually only have one litter per year. Although we have started over with White Shepherds, we do not limit ourselves to just the white coat color. Temperment, health, and structure are heavily weighed when we evaluate dogs for breeding and many white and colored dogs possess these qualities.
All of our puppies are raised in our home, where they become familiar with the normal sounds of a household. Our puppies are handled daily and experience Early Neurological Stimulation. We go to great length to properly socialize our puppies. We make sure that they are exposed to as many new people and experiences as possible. At 49 days our puppies are temperment tested using the Vollhard's PAT. A copy of this temperament test is always given to the new owners. All our puppies come with a hip and health guarantee; and we mean it when we say we stand behind our dogs. Great care and consideration goes into to each litter we produce. We are proud of our dogs and encourage all who purchase a puppy from us to show their dog!
As a prospective puppy buyer, we are sure you will have many questions for us. Please do not hesitate to contact us for further information.
We look forward to hearing from you soon.
