Why Feed A Natural Diet?
There are many commercial dog foods on the market today and each one is looking for your business. If you take the time to research what they say about their food, they all want you to think that their food will keep your dog healthy. With so many choices one could just pick a bag off the shelf that they feel good about and go on their merry way. We feel a better way to insure that you are choosing the right food for your dog is to become educated about what foods canines were designed to eat. This way you can choose a diet that is best suited for your dog's digestive system.
Canines were not designed to eat the same food day in and day out! If not domesticated, they would eat what was found naturally in the wild and that diet would consist of raw meat, raw bones, and grasses native to the region you live in. Now our dogs have been domesticated and we have changed many of their feral ways but we have not bred out the way their systems handle food!
Many of today's commercial feeds contain poor meat sources, grains, starches and additives that over time can cause problems in our dogs. Just like you would want to know what you put in your body...take a look at what is in your dog's food. You might be surprised about what is in there.
Noblewood Kennels has made the commitment to feed our dogs the most natural diet we can. We feel that feeding a natural diet coupled with a reduced vaccination schedule makes our dogs healthier. We feed a variety of raw foods and bones and do not keep any dog on one meat source unless for some reason they require this type of feeding regimen. We believe that this is the best way to raise our canine companions and hope that you will educate yourselves about feeding options. Most of our clients who take the time to research what is in commercial feeds do agree that feeding a natural diet is the best way to raise their puppy. Feeding an all natural/raw diet can be a scary prospect for some people and we understand that! We were there once too! But we also know that we become scared of what we don't know about, so to help educate our buyers, we have provided a number of links at the bottom of this page to help you learn more about the benefits of feeding a natural diet.
We understand that some people are not comfortable with feeding a raw food diet. With this in mind, in addition to raw food we also feed a high quality kibble that goes well with a raw diet, Wysong.
We also recommend products from The Honest Kitchen. This company makes all natural pet foods that are gently dehydrated and are easily rehydrated with water. We find their products to be extremely easy to feed. Our dogs love it and they have done wonderfully on this diet. What impresses us the most about this food is that we can choose to add additional raw meat/bones and supplements to it or simply feed it alone. If you are someone who wants to feed a more natural diet but can't make a home-made diet for whatever reason please consider this diet. The food is made with all natural ingredients and once rehydrated has almost the same nutritional value that it did in its original raw form. Don't just take our word for it...learn about it!
